Piano
At The Bach Academy, piano study is rooted in the great tradition of Western music and guided by Christian principles that honor both the mind and the heart. We invite students to approach the instrument as more than a skill to master: it is a lifelong pursuit of beauty, discipline, and service. Lessons cultivate the intellect through a structured curriculum, awaken the imagination through the study of timeless repertoire, and train the body with efficient and healthy technique. Our piano instruction combines classical and contemporary methods. For technical foundations and injury-free playing, we draw on the Taubman Approach, the Lister-Sink method, and the tradition of great virtuosos. For younger beginners, we use Suzuki and Kodály-influenced approaches to nurture listening skills, natural musicality, and early technical habits. Students participate in regular performances, festivals, and theory programs in partnership with local and national music teacher associations. Through this disciplined yet inspiring approach, we aim to lead students to delight in music as a gift from God—deepening their understanding and skill so they may play with insight, confidence, and artistry.
