Kirk Hensley is a dedicated percussionist and music educator based in Central Florida. A versatile musician with a heart for teaching and serving his church, he has been playing drums since 2005 and teaching private lessons since 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (K–12) from Mississippi College, where he studied percussion with Paul Heindl under the guidance of his music director, Dr. Craig Young, and previously studied drums with Central Florida percussionist James McKey.

From 2014 to 2023, Kirk served as a full-time band director, teaching brass, woodwind, and percussion students in grades 6–12. He now teaches percussion and general music privately in several Central Florida schools on a weekly basis and regularly serves his local church by playing music in worship.

Kirk maintains that a student should receive the foundations of music and of his or her instrument from day one. He also allows room for the student's interests and personality, weaving these together with basic technique and necessary fundamentals. He aims to prepare the student well for their future music education and performance while also allowing lessons to be collaborative between student and teacher.

Kirk is married to Erika and they just brought home their first child, Natalie Jane Hensley. They attend The Grove Church in Clermont. Kirk is a marriage, family, and individual mental health therapist, and he now enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and daughter.
