Owen is a cellist and pianist living in Sugar Grove, Illinois. He began taking private cello and piano lessons at the age of six and has continued developing as both a solo and ensemble musician.
As a cellist, Owen is a private student of Claire Langenberg and performs with the Youth Symphony of DuPage and the North Central College Orchestra. He has performed a variety of repertoire through solo performances, string quartets, orchestral works, and concertos.
In 2026, Owen won first place in the Youth Symphony of DuPage Concerto Competition and received an honorable mention in the Clampitt Concerto Competition at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Wisconsin.
As a pianist, Owen currently studies with William Daniels. He has earned numerous awards and superior ratings through competitions and festivals, including the National Federation of Music Clubs, National Guild of Piano Teachers, Sonata-Sonatina Festival, and AIM. His performance experience includes solo repertoire, piano duets, chamber music, and accompanying students during recitals.

Owen has extensive performance experience in both cello and piano. As a cellist, he has performed in orchestras, string quartets, solo recitals, and concerto performances. His competition accomplishments include first place in the 2026 Youth Symphony of DuPage Concerto Competition and an honorable mention in the 2026 Clampitt Concerto Competition.
As a pianist, Owen has participated in numerous festivals and competitions, earning awards and superior ratings. He has experience performing solo and duet repertoire, participating in chamber music, and accompanying other students in recitals.
Teaching Approach :
Owen’s goal is to help students become well-rounded, confident, and versatile musicians. He focuses on building strong technique, musicality, and overall musicianship while tailoring lessons to each student’s individual needs and level.
For cello students, he incorporates technique exercises, études, solo literature, and materials from the Suzuki and Royal Conservatory methods, along with works by Grützmacher, Duport, Dotzauer, Popper, and others. He also helps students understand how to adapt their playing for solo, chamber, and orchestral settings.
For piano students, Owen uses traditional learning methods to develop technical ability, musical expression, and a strong musical foundation. Across both instruments, his goal is to help students grow into capable, expressive, and confident musicians with a lasting appreciation for music.
