Angelina Juliet Barbosa is a cellist and music educator whose life and artistry are deeply rooted in her faith, family, and love for music. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance, graduating cum laude from Stetson University, where she studied under Dr. Jamie Clark and Dr. Ignacy Gaydamovich. She was first introduced to music through her father, Christopher Maynard “Chris” Barbosa (1961–2024), a gifted record producer and musician, whose encouragement led her to begin piano lessons at the age of six, planting the seeds for what would later grow into her lifelong love of music and eventual discovery of the cello. In high school, Angelina began teaching privately, giving cello lessons to middle school students as part of her community service.
As a soloist, Angelina performed extensively in recitals at Stetson, and in masterclasses with visiting artists such as Jonah Kim and David Ying. As an orchestral musician, she was a member of both the Stetson University Symphony and Chamber Orchestras under the direction of Anthony Hose from 2021–2025. She performed a wide range of repertoire spanning centuries and participated in international study-abroad tours, which included performing in select venues across Germany, the UK, and Italy while also exploring their rich musical and cultural traditions. As a chamber musician, Angelina collaborated in diverse ensembles at Stetson University as well as in programs such as the Charleston Chamber Music Intensive Summer Festival (2024), Cellobration (2018), and the Metropolitan Area Youth Symphony Summer Camp (2018).
Her dedication and artistry have been recognized with several honors, including the Duckwitz Talent Scholarship (2021–2025), the Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship (2023–2025), and Superior Ratings for Cello Solo from the National Federation of Music Clubs (2019).
Outside of music, Angelina enjoys walking in nature, reading, cooking new recipes, watching films, and spending time with her family, loved ones, and friends. She views her music as both a gift and a calling, seeking to glorify God by uplifting and inspiring others through her work.
